The Young EFC (YEFC) supports early-career researchers throughout EUROCORR2026. If you’re looking to network, learn, or showcase your talent, here are a wide range of activities and opportunities designed for you.





Network
Early-Career Mingle & YEFC Info Session
On Tuesday 8 September at 18:30, this informal session is a chance to:
- Meet like-minded peers
- Learn about YEFC activities throughout the year
- Share your ideas, expectations, and suggestions
- Get to know other local corrosion organizations like ICorr (UK) and GfKORR (Germany)
- Discover ways to get involved in your local and the wider European corrosion community
No registration required—just come and enjoy drinks and company! However, we encourage you to express interest for the event when you register for the conference.
Career Fair
Taking place on Wednesday 9 September 12:15, the Career Fair brings together job seekers and recruiting companies in a new dedicated networking event hosted in the exhibition hall.
How to join:
- Registration is not mandatory for joining. However, you can express your interest for the event when you register for the conference.
- Pick up a participant sticker at the entrance to the exhibition
- Join the exhibition and connect directly with companies displaying “Discuss your career” badges on their booth
- More detailed information will be distributed close to the start of the conference.
This is a great opportunity to engage with employers who are actively open to discussion.
Learn
Women in Corrosion Luncheon
Join on Wednesday 9 September at 12:45 for an interactive lunch focused on gender equality in corrosion science. Focused on answering the question “How do we make systematic change for women in the corrosion field?” Sponsored by Dorken & NOF Metal Coatings.
- Moderated discussions with guiding chairs at each table
- Open to participants of all genders and career stageswho wish to promote inclusivity
- Help develop strategies for improving the experience of Women in Corrosion

Young Plenary Lecture
On Wednesday 9 September 9 at 09:00, join for the young EFC plenary lecture. The speaker has been chosen for their excellence in both research and communication through a competitive application held during the winter and spring.
EFC Summer School
YEFC is co-organizing the EFC Summer School (3–5 September) at TU Dublin. This year’s theme is Fighting corrosion in green and low-carbon energy technologies.

Award Opportunities
YEFC Best Oral Presentation Awards
Showcase your research and communication skills in this competition. Sponsored by NOF Metal Coatings. Send us your abstract, a copy of your presentation, and a letter of motivation shortly before the conference. 10 finalists will then be selected and evaluated during their presentation at EUROCORR2026.

Symposium on Corrosion of Medical Implants and Devices
This award recognizes outstanding presentations by master’s students, PhD students, and researchers up to 8 years post-PhD (non-PI). Only for accepted speakers at the symposium “Corrosion of Medical Implants and Devices” at EUROCORR2026. Both self-nominations and peer nominations are welcome.

Zestron Best Paper Presentation Award
WP23 on Corrosion Reliability of Electronics presents an annual award for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers for outstanding contributions to the session. Sponsored by Zestron, Germany. More information can be found on the WP23 website.
